Harry Potter and The Casual Vacancy author J. K. Rowling has made a huge announcement.

Under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith, Rowling wrote The Cuckoo’s Calling, which was published in April of this year.

Today it was confirmed by The Telegraph, who spoke to Rowling over the weekend. She said: “I had hoped to keep this secret a little longer because being Robert Galbraith has been such a liberating experience. It has been wonderful to publish without hype or expectation and pure pleasure to get feedback under a different name.”

The Cuckoo’s Calling has received much praise by critics and readers alike and has been hailed as a classic London detective story.

You can read more about the novel here via The Telegraph, and order the 450-page novel at Barnes and Noble Online for $12.99.
